\u201cAs parents of a 5 year old and 1 year old twins, as well as owning a business, we have made the time to alternate classes and get in the hot room at least 3 days per week each. Making that time has been one of the best things we have done for us and our children.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

BYV: How long have you been practicing Bikram yoga, and did you start at BYV or somewhere else?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201c4 years on and off. 3 months as of late.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201c2 1\/2 months.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: Why did you start practicing?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cTo gain flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cTo relieve stress and heal chronic shoulder injury.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: Has that reason changed or evolved since first starting?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cI use it now to clear my mind and maintain my physical health.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cI want to continue to improve physical and mental health.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: What inspired you to begin taking class?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cseeing an article in the newspaper when Adam & Dionne first opened BYV.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cThe physical benefits I saw in my wife.\u201d<\/p>\n

BYV: What benefits did you notice right away from practice?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cMental clarity, lymph drainage and increased flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cDecreased pain from previous injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: What long term benefits have you experienced?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cI find it easier to deal with stress and a more positive attitude about my health.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cImproved emotional well being and improved performance in other sports.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: Have you used Bikram\u2019s yoga as a form of therapy or rehabilitation?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cYes, I have chronic pain in my piriformis, that I do not feel when I regularly practice.”<\/p>\n
M: \u201cYes, to recover from a shoulder injury.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: What is it that motivates you to get your toes on the line as frequently as possible?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cThe pain that creeps back into my body when I DON\u2019T practice.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cThe continuing health benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: What is your favorite posture and why?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cFixed Firm. It feels so good I could stay in it all day!\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cRabbit. Because I am good at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: What would you suggest to a new student looking to expand their practice? Were there things that have helped you along the way?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cAttend the Master Classes!\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cPractice as often as you can.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: Have you ever felt like running out of the room? If so, what kept you from acting on it?<\/span><\/p>\n
A: \u201cI had to leave the\u00a0 room when Lynn was teaching. It felt so intense for me. But usually I can focus on my breathing and overcome that feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
M: \u201cYes, but I just think of the benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n
BYV: What challenges have you completed?<\/span><\/p>\n
